Gosto de mostrar aos alunos trabalhos de artistas contemporâneos, acessíveis à sua compreensão como é obvio. Um dia estava na minha hora de almoço na biblioteca da escola a trabalhar no computador, passaram três alunos, vieram ter comigo estavam bem dispostos e contentes por poderem falar com a professora fora da sala de aula. Abri o meu blog e mostrei-lhes as imagens das esculturas de chiclete do artista Maurizio Savini, conversamos um bocadinho sobre as imagens, como o artista juntaria tantas chicletes, quantas teriam sido necessárias e se teriam todas o sabor a morango... Passou-se mais de um mês quando um dia numa aula, não me recordo sobre o que falava com aquela turma, um aluno põe o braço no ar entusiasmado e ao mesmo tempo diz "Pois, é como aquele artista que faz esculturas com chicletes!" Ao que respondi: "Exactamente, é isso mesmo!"... explicamos tudo ao resto da turma ...

I like to show work of contemporary artists to my students. I was on my lunch hour in the school library working on my computer, when three students came to me glad to speak with the teacher out of the classroom. I opened the webpage of this blog and showed tem the chewing gum sculptures made by the artist Maurizio Savini, about which we talked about, like how many chewing gums did he need, how did he put them together, and if they all tasted of strawberry... more than one month passed, when during class, I don't remember what I was talking about, one student puts his arm in the air and at the same time says "It's like that artist that makes sculptures with chewing gum!" I answered "Exactly, that's right!" ... we then explained it to all of the class...
